Byrraju Foundation
Byrraju Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on improving the quality of life among the rural poor and under-privileged. Established in July 2001, it aims at building progressive self-reliant communities through adoption of a holistic approach and coordinated action. These include promotion of rural initiatives, knowledge management and process transfer, and assistance in creation of "soft infrastructure" in areas such as healthcare, sanitation, primary education, adult literacy, skills development, safety and environment. The foundation currently works in 198 villages in 6 districts of Andhra Pradesh (East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Ranga Reddy and Visakhapatnam) positively transforming the lives of nearly 3 million people.
Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI)
EMRI is a unique arm that reaches out to rescue people in critical accidents and emergencies. The Government of Andhra Pradesh recognized EMRI as the nodal agency for providing emergency response services within the state. Equipped with world-class technology (mobile communication and distress management systems, mobile medical platforms with paramedic support, ambulances and motorbike champions, et al.), EMRI specializes in extending immediate relief in case of police, fire, and medical emergencies. It enables distress calls through a unique 108 dial number, both on mobile phones and landlines.
